Emma, Congratulations on being an Osmosis Mastermind! We’d love to learn more about your journey and your successful holistic practice in Beverly Hills, California. Tell us, what led you to become an esthetician?
EMMA GOODMAN: From an early age, I have always loved beauty, and been drawn to self care. Growing up, I was always the one who helped to craft my friends' “look” by doing their makeup and styling their eyebrows. Honestly, I knew college wasn’t for me, but I had no idea what I wanted to do “When I grew up.” So I decided to enroll in an esthetics course after a girlfriend recommended it. I fell in love with skincare! I loved the idea of helping people to feel confident in their skin.
Please share highlights of your education.
EMMA GOODMAN: You really only learn the basics in esthetics school: how to pass the state board exam. I furthered my education by delving deep into skin care classes, reading a ton of books, and through my own healing journey. I worked at a holistic healing center for 11 years. The body is so amazing! It wants to heal and is always trying to reach homeostasis, perfect balance. You just need to get rid of the pathogens, toxins, and process emotions! My background is in Holistic health, I have taken certificates for Nutrition, Fingernail and Tongue Analysis, Dien Chan Facial Reflexology, Reiki, Craniosacral Therapy, Massage Therapy, Healing Touch, Sound Healing, Doula training, Yoga, and Chakra Balancing.

EMMA GOODMAN: I was licensed in Orange County, California at the age of 20, so it has been 20 years in the business. I feel so lucky and grateful to do what I love most as my job. It is true that it doesn’t feel like work when you love what you do!
I started in a Day Spa, later moved to a hair salon, then a Holistic Healing center where I worked for 11 years and where I learned the most about the body’s ability to heal given the right tools. I moved to LA in August of 2017 when my career exploded! I now have such a wonderful like-minded clientele that include some of Hollywood’s top Celebrities, models, actors, and business people. I have learned so much over the years with each one of my clients.
And your Wellness Journey?
EMMA GOODMAN: My wellness journey began at the age of 18 when I had been dealing with a great deal of stomach pain. Western medicine was making me even more sick and I found a Holistic doctor that my esthetics teacher referred me to. As I learned about healing the body from the inside-out, I began to bring these concepts into my skincare practice.

Care to share about your own personal Wellness Protocol?
EMMA GOODMAN: I don’t take a lot of things anymore, but my staples are the Recovery because I love the way it smoothes out my fine lines and supports my skin. Trace minerals (Risely), marine based collagen (crushed tonic), Immune Activator and Regenerate for liver, immune and pigmentation, longevity mushrooms (Cymbiotica) support by brain and immune function. I also get monthly chiropractic and facials and bi-weekly massages. Relaxing the nervous system is so important being a healing facilitator, business owner and solo mom.
What would be your top suggestion for how to invest in your health?
EMMA GOODMAN: Make your health your main priority, always! You have nothing if you don’t have health! Especially if you are a mom!
Care to share about a favorite client?
EMMA GOODMAN: Emma Roberts, Hailey Beiber, Camilla Marone, and Judy Greer. All powerhouses in their industry and the sweetest and funniest I have met! But, honestly everyone of my clients are my fav, they are all unique and have beautiful stories of growth. I just love people.
What’s your favorite Osmosis product(s)?
EMMA GOODMAN: I have so many favorites! - I love using and offering my clients Recovery, Rescue Epidermal Repair Serum, Renew Advanced Retinal Serum, Polish Cranberry Enzyme Mask, Tropical Mango Barrier Repair Mask and Illuminate Eye and Lip Cream. How has your business changed with the Covid pandemic?
EMMA GOODMAN: I was forced to stop working for almost a year, I had to pivot and start online skincare consultations and depended on selling skincare. I lived off of my savings. It really took a hit on a lot of small businesses that will never come back. But, I ended up doing a lot of at-home clients until I birthed my own studio, The Skin Witch in April of 2021. I took the plunge and trusted that the universe always provides. I am so glad I did!
What are you passionate about personally?
EMMA GOODMAN: I love dancing, writing, drawing, herbs and medicine making and anything to do with personal growth and expansion.
What are you looking forward to in the future?
EMMA GOODMAN: While I have some goals, I am really setting the intention of being more present and appreciating all that I have. Everyday I am grateful to be alive! Although, I would love to have a community on a big property where we all take care of one another and go back to trading goods and growing our own food. I am a true hippie at heart!
